Humanity witnessed only a fragment of the Combine’s military capacity during the Seven Hour War. The invasion that subdued Earth was not the full weight of an empire, but a task force sufficient for compliance. Beyond Earth’s skies exists a trans-dimensional war machine spanning conquered realities, species, and resource networks beyond human measurement.

Such forces no longer remain on Earth.

Once capitulation was secured in 2009, primary invasion fleets withdrew through portal corridors to continue expansion elsewhere. What remained was not the spearhead of conquest, but the Combine's garrison.
